Vadakkunnathan Temple is an ancient Lord Shiva temple and the spiritual heart of Thrissur city. Built in classic Kerala architectural style, the temple features monumental gopurams, a beautifully crafted Koothambalam, and mural paintings depicting episodes from the Mahabharata.
The temple complex includes the Nalambalam (Chuttambalam) with shrines dedicated to:

The Guruvayur Sri Krishna Temple, known as “Bhooloka Vaikunta”, is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage centres in India. Located about 29 km from Thrissur town, the temple is believed to be over 5,000 years old.
The idol of Lord Krishna (Guruvayurappan) is believed to have been installed by Brihaspati and Vayu and blessed by Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Entry is permitted only for Hindus.

Cheraman Juma Mosque
Cheraman Juma Mosque, Kodungallur
Cheraman Juma Mosque is the first mosque in India and the second in the world where Juma prayers began. Built in AD 629, this historic mosque is located in Methala, Kodungallur Taluk.
The mosque resembles traditional Hindu temple architecture and houses an ancient oil lamp believed to have been burning continuously for over a thousand years. People of all religions offer oil here, symbolizing harmony.

Palayoor Church is regarded as the first Christian church in India, established in 52 AD by St. Thomas the Apostle. According to tradition, St. Thomas arrived at Kodungallur and reached Palayoor by sea to spread Christianity.
The church architecture reflects a blend of Hindu cultural elements and Persian ornamental styles, making it historically and visually significant.

Kanakamala Kurisumudi Church
Located near Chalakudy, Kanakamala Kurisumudi Church sits atop a 3,000-ft hill in the Western Ghats. Dedicated to St. Anthony of Padua, it is a major pilgrimage centre during Holy Week, especially on Good Friday, when devotees climb the hill as an act of devotion.

Koodalmanikyam Temple
Koodalmanickyam is the Malayalam translation of the Sanskrit word Sangameswara. Koodalmanikyam Temple is the only ancient temple in India dedicated to the worship of Bharata, the third brother of Rama. The temple is one of four in Kerala state that form a set called “Nalambalam”,[8] each temple dedicated to one of the four brothers in Ramayana: Rama, Bharata, Lakshmana and Shatrughna. Thriputhari on the Thiruvonam day in the month of Thulam (October-November) is an important occasion in the Temple. The temple holds its chief annual festival for ten days each year in the month of Medam (April/May). The festival starts one day after the famous Thrissur Pooram and comes to a close on the next Thiruvonam day. The Darshan timings are 3.00 am to 11.30 pm and at 5.00 pm and will be closed at 8.30 pm.
Sree Kurumbha Bhagavathy Temple
Sree Kurumba Bhagavati Temple (alternatively Kodungallur Devi Temple) is at Kodungallur, Thrissur District. It is dedicated to the goddess Bhadrakali, a form of Kali worshipped in Kerala. The goddess is known also by the names “Sri Kurumba” and “Kodungallur Amma” (The Mother of Kodungallur). The Bharani festival in the temple is one of the grandest in Kerala. The Darshan times are at 4.00 am to 12.00 pm and reopens at 4.00 pm and will be closed at 8.00 pm

Shatrughna Swamy Temple is located in Payammal in Thrissur District of Kerala. This is one of the few temples in India that is dedicated to Lord Shatrughna, youngest brother of Lord Rama in the Hindu epic Ramayana.
